A Guide to Mattress Pads

A mattress pad, or mattress topper, is a mattress cover which provides an extra layer of bedding warmth and comfort between the user and the mattress.  A mattress pad is attached to a skirt which envelopes the mattress.   Mattress pads come in a variety of materials, such as the polyester fiber or cotton fill mattress pad.   A mattress topper is a separate pad and generally comes in the form of the foam or memory foam mattress topper.  Fiber beds can be both attached and separate and are filled with microfiber or synthetic fiber.  The foam mattress topper softens when stressed and provides pressure relief.  A memory foam mattress topper does the same in addition to having visco-elastic properties which allow it to mold to your body and also soften in response to temperature.  A mattress pad can offer additional functionality, such as the heated mattress pad, cooling mattress pad, or waterproof mattress pad.  A waterproof mattress protector can also be anti-microbial and guard against dust mites, mold, and mildew.  A heated mattress pad can have multiple settings and features and is machine washable.  We also have a mattress protector and featherbed selection.  A mattress protector, or mattress encasement, completely surrounds a mattress, protecting you from allergens, dust, and other unwanted qualities.  A featherbed is for extra cushy feel and can be filled with feathers, down, or synthetic fibers for hypoallergenic effect.
