Ive used the larger diameter type of these bubble makers and they don't last as long without getting clogged from contaminates in the water. The smaller diameter allows more air around the whole surface to keep them clean and puts less stress on my air pump, the pump runs quieter!

On July 4, 2011:
I have the 23 inch in my 29gallon tank and it is the perfect size to make a wall of tiny bubbles going up the back of the tank. I like that it disperses the air into tiny bubbles, evenly spread out. With other air stones, the bubbles escaping were big and uneven, and the air stones eventually broke down in gritty chunks. I'm going to get a 15 inch for my 10 gallon, and an 8 inch for my 20 gal hex tank.

I used this 4in. in my 6 sided two gallon tank and it fits perfectly against one of the walls and creates a beautiful curtain of bubbles.Make sure that you get a air pump meant for a small tank or you will end up with the bubbles coming out hard and fast since this is so small.I tried my air pump meant for a 5-6 gallon tank on this and wouldn't recommend it even in a big tank since the bubbles come out pretty hard and I worry it might hurt the fish(I actually had got a T valve to split the pump's air between a 5 gallon tank and the two gallon tank but all the bubbles preferred coming out of the smaller wand lol).I'm now using a separate air pump that originally came with the two gallon tank and it works great.They don't mention this in the description and they should but you will need to buy a air hose to go with it and hook it to your own air pump(which the air pump should be assumed anyways).I luckily bought air hose as a precaution since it didn't mention it.Can be hidden pretty good when placed flush with gravel. All in all a great product!My fish loves swimming through the bubbles and it's beautiful to look at!

I bought this and the 4 in for my two tanks.This one is great in my 5 gallon tank.I use a air pump for a 5-6or 8 gallon tank (purchased on this site) for it and it creates a beautiful curtain of bubbles.The fish love to play in the bubbles and get disappointed if I shut it off for any reason and go in search of their bubble curtain lol.Can be placed flush with gravel to hide from view.I would recommend this product to anyone!!

I got 2 of these wands for what the petstore in my area(petco) charges for 1!!! I will always shop here!
