These work great with plastic plants. Just remove those ridiculous plastic "boats" at the base, use these to wrap and your plants stay in place. No more of the headache and hassle of trying to keep your plants in place with stones and pebbles just to have your big apple snails or cichlids dig them right back up! Actually, it seemed my snails or cichlids only had to "bump" the plants to get them to float to the top! They can also be used to weigh down other things - such as wooden airstones (I like the frothy, tiny bubbles!).

Works just like described, will never even attempt to put plants in an aquarium without these, we use them on live plants.

Actually I never knew plant weights existed and have never seen them anywhere else - online OR retail! Thanks Petmountain! Really strange to me how such a useful item would not be more common to find. Great product
