This big 48 oz. feeder is great. We bought 2 now & had bought 2 last year since we have so many hummingbirds here in our area of California. There are always many birds around all the feeders & too many for the 6 ports on each feeder to accommodate. Just love watching them wait for their turn to feed & they do share all the time.

Have used this model for years and don't understand the complaints. Mine have never leaked anywhere. The yellow bee guards must be FORCED in securely. This is the only model to have if you have dozens of hummers like we do. A cinch to fill and so easy to clean when necessary. I hang them from ant guards to avoid ants finding the nectar. I make my own nectar. It's easy and much cheaper! 1C. sugar to 4C. water. Boil and keep surplus in fridge.

I love these hummingbird feeders! They are great to clean, hold a lot and are fun to watch the birds eat from! I wish they made the bigger one like I used to have :) But this is a great substitute!

These are the best feeders, bar none. The little birds like them and because of the size and where I live, I only have to refill once a day. I use two of them and they are hung outside my kitchen window to enjoy the birds all day. Easy to clean and the male birds have a hard time trying to control them due to the shape and size.

I have been very happy with the large size. This is the third year of the large ones. I have around fifty to eighty birds already, And have 8 feeders out now and will need more before Sept.
On February 2, 2011:
Easy to clean, no dripping.

We just purchased two of these 48 oz. feeders and first thing I did was to use a very small amount of silicone glue to secure the yellow flowers. I made sure to give the glue a couple of day to dry before filling. We now have two of the 48 oz. and four of the 30oz. 25lbs of sugar every 2-3 weeks, but it's worth it

I love the size, and the fact that it is not glass. My only problem is that the yellow flowers do not stay in place, and the bees get in. For my feeder, the yellow tabs fell out from the beginning. Otherwise, I love this feeder.

Product was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and was as advertised, we would have no problem ordering again.

Our two forty-eight ounce Perky-Pet hummingbird feeders arrived right on time. Since we are now getting so many birds, I needed the large ones. My wife and I have owned the old style (96 ounce feeders) and they are just as good now as they were the day we got them years ago. I am looking forward to many good years with our new feeders. Thank you for the phenomenal service.

GREAT FEEDER--easy to clean, great capacity.

We have several Hummingbird feeder and found this one (48 oz.) the best one we ever had, and the easiest one to use. Mixing the solutions in the feeder, without having to clean any thing else.
On June 16, 2010:
The large 48 oz perky pet hummer feeder is kind of "funky" to work with. Now that we have one, we still really prefer the 30 oz glass model. It is much easier to screw in. About the only advantage of the larger one is that it will last longer especially when we are traveling and unable to add sugar water to them. We have the Broadtail, Rufous, and Caliope species of hummers - they like all the feeders and we have never used "nectar" - just plain ol white sugar.

It works great- Do not have to fill it too often. Great service

I am still going to order more. This is a great feeder for high migration period (like August/September in Michigan). We routinely have over 100 birds in the yard at a time and this is the only feeder I know that can handle that volume. It does leak, but with the levels constantly under pressure it doesn't lose enough to worry about. We usually have 20 feeders active at all times.

I have 6 of the 48oz. feeders. And I love them. One has a leak around the bottom, and I have filled it from the outside with a silicone filling. So far it is working pretty well. I also have 6 of the 16oz glass with 4 feeding flowers and these are okay too. Never a problem with them.
On May 28, 2010:
I have 6 of them.

This is the best feeder that I have tried, I use 12 of these feeders plus 4 of the 96 oz. feeders. In the peak time I will use 5 lbs of sugar daily. The only problem I have with them is they don't fill them selves... LOL
On May 8, 2010:
We were disappointed that the feeders were made of plastic. The size is great, we have lots of hummingbirds. We only have to refill these every 3 days. They are easy to clean.
On April 30, 2010:
I love this hummer feeder because it holds a lot of nectar and is easy to refill and put back up again. Six feeder stations rather than just four. Also easy to snap together. Glass container packaged well and arrived safely.

I had ordered this same feeder thru another shipper - took 2 weeks to receive it - and it was damaged when I got it. Hopped on the net, ordered from Pet mountain, received within 1 week and it was received in excellent condition. Thank you

This feeder has a large capacity and is easy to refill. Unfortunately, it slowly leaks at the seam where the bottom (not shown in picture) is assembled to the upper part with the feeding holes. If you don't like hoards of ants collecting below your feeder, I'd consider another model.

I LOVE this product! While I miss the 96 oz size that was discontinued, this is the largest size available of any type of feeder I have found. During migration time I have 12 of these hanging and go through 2.5 gallons of sugar water per day!!!! They are so easy to clean! I love that I can get my hand into the container to clean, brush and bleach them. And while they can "drip" when spinning to hang I have found no complaints with this product!
On October 22, 2009:
We bought the 48OZ Hummingbird Feeder. We love it and it is so easy to clean. We had the 30 OZ but the hummingbirds were going through it too fast so we got the big one. I am thinking about ordering another one as a back up.
On July 13, 2009:
Delighted to find these online, as I have been unable to find them locally. I purchased one several years ago at a feed store and it is still in excellent condition. The hummers and the orioles much prefer it to the smaller units I have up, which aren't all that small. (So do I when it comes to ease of cleaning and filling.)
On June 5, 2008:
This feeder is the easiest to fill, and clean. I am going to purchase three, just in case they discontinue them, I will have spares on hand.
