On September 27, 2011:
I ordered the Skid Stop Slow Feed Bowl for my six month old Bernese Mountain Dog who likes to inhale his food. While the bowl did slow his eating a little he still manages to push it across the kitchen. Also, it only holds about 3 cups of food, not the advertised 5 cups.

On September 28, 2010:
This product has worked well for slowing down my dogs eating. Normally he just swallows his food whole, but this dish has made him chew his food. As far as the dish not moving around the floor because of the rubber on the bottom I have found that this does not work. My dog pushes it all over the floor. I have to put it on a rug to keep it in one place. For the most part I am very satisfied with the product producing the slow eating. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to solve a fast eating - gulping dog.

This bowl slows my Lab down from about 30 seconds in a regular bowl to 1min 30 in this bowl. It was a great purchase.

On September 9, 2010:
Bought this for our 80Lb rescued Black Lab who is a frantic eater. The bowl definitely slows him down but it also makes him even more frantic trying to get to the food. I went back to his regular bowl and he slowed down his consumption of intake as though to say "I'll be better if I can use my old bowl"! I've alternated a few times since and the result has been the same. Go figure. The bowl does do exactly what it claims.

On August 7, 2010:
I now have Skid Stop Slow Feed bowls for two of my three dogs, and have given them to two friends for their dogs that "wolf down their food." They work wonderfully, requiring the dogs to work at getting the food from between the dividers. Very durable, easy to clean (I throw them in the top rack of the dishwasher periodically, and wash them out with sponge and soap before each meal) and inexpensive.

I have been very pleased with this bowl from the start. I have two weimaraners who LOVE to inhale their food. These bowls took them from eating their food in 45 seconds to 3 minutes or more. If your dogs are chewers (mine are) do not leave these bowls out. They can be destroyed pretty fast. Other than that the bowls are made of high quality plastic and the rubber bottom really does stop it from skidding around. All in all I love these bowls and would recommend them to anyone.

On May 10, 2010:
My dogs were inhaling their food, with these bowls, it does slow them up a bit, but not much. Seems like they lick it down without chewing at all, in order to get around the dividers. Plus my 9 month old puppy starts to chew on the bowl as soon as she is done. I have to take the bowls away.

I already bought one of these at Petsmart for my other beagle but they discontinued carrying them in stores and instead they had this other option that my dog would take out and play with. So after a lot of online research through the manufacturer I found that Petmountain.com had the exact bowl I already own but at a much lower price as any competitors. If your dogs eat too fast and are like mine and don't think they will ever be fed again so they inhale their food (it's a genetic beagle thing!) than this is the perfect bowl. They have to take their time because of the dividers and chew their food but they have become happier and there are fewer accidents with them eating too fast. My vet also said that it helps the digestion of the food because they are also chewing their food rather than swallowing whole pieces and will have fewer stomach upsets! The only downside is the rubber on the bottom still slides on floors but if that's the least of my concerns than I'm happy with it.

On April 2, 2010:
My Australian Shepard could win "beat the clock" everytime when she would eat. With 4 dogs, a fight over food could erupt at any time. This bowl has solved our feeding problems. Bella is now the last one to finish at mealtime and our other dogs can eat in peace. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have retired racing greyhounds and two of them race to finish so they can go and eat the other dogs food. This bowl has been a complete success - they are now the last to finish. I am happy with the quality of the bowl and the non skid bottom. I am not affiliated with this product just a satisfied customer.

Our dog was eating his kibble in 17 seconds. Way too fast! Bought this bowl, and the same amount of kibble now takes him just over 1 minute! The bowl stays put on the floor, and cleans up beautifully. I like the way the bowl is formed; it's really easy to handle. Thanks for a grrrreat product!

On January 2, 2010:
1 Basset & 2 Welsh Corgis who think they have to race for the food. With this bowl they have really slowed down, and no longer choke on their food as they eat. Thank You for a good bowl at a reasonable price. Have already bought more for friends & family with same problem.

Best dog dish to slow down fast eaters. We run a non profit dog rescue and we use them every single day! LOVE them!!! Great for small to XL  size dogs.

One of the attributes of the original "Brake Fast" bowl was that it did slip and slide around on most kitchen floors. That feature added to the amount of time it took the dog to eat the food - meaning both the shapes in the bowl and the sliding aspect combined to slow the eating the process. Now some genius comes along and makes a bowl that supposedly won't slide, thereby partially diminishing the whole purpose. The slipping and sliding of the bowl is a tad irritating, but for a very short time and easily endured as an alternative to bloat. I wish such bowls came in stainless steel for large breeds - the plastic is way to easy to bite through etc.

This is a lot higher quality bowl than the last Anti Bloat bowl that I purchased. This slows my Basset hounds eating their food. Good bowl at a great price!

On October 27, 2009:
Very effective at slowing the dog down eating. However, the plastic used to make it is not sturdy. The puppy has easily scratched and gouged the dish just trying to get the food. The non skid is completely useless. The bowl still slides all over the floor.
