JW Ruffians Chicken Rubber Dog Toy Dog Chew Toys at Linens 'n Things

On December 10, 2012:
I bought this a few years ago for my 7 year old Jack Russell who will chew through toys within minutes. My dog still has this toy three years later! They toy does show signs of wear including many splits, but despite these splits and cracks that turn into gaping holes when pinched together, the product will still squeak upon release! My Jack Russell is still perplexed as to why that chicken is "still alive". If I had one gripe, however: The legs and feather decoration on the toy should be carefully whittled off, it's unnecessary and can be bitten off by the dog.

Our mini-dox rips through every dog toy in 5 minutes. But Ruffians chicken is amazing however it does require just a bit of prep. (this will sound cruel but this is not a joke) Cut off the feet, the crown and the beak because these are the parts that he can bite off and they are a choke hazard. Once the 3 minute prep work is done. Your all set. We've had 2 of these chickens for 2 years and our dog plays with them every day. For some reason, they are not available in stores anymore. I just received 2 new ones which I bought on line. GREAT RUBBER CHICKEN !

Only get this toy if you have a dog with really strong jaws, otherwise it won't squeak.

On December 17, 2010:
My one year old CKCS chewed the little hole in the back and ripped the rubber in about 6 hours. Thought it would last longer.

My 63lb Dalmatian has 2 of these and she LOVES them. So do all of her friends. We've had it for a few months now and it has held up really well. LOVE it! Really good squeakage.

Our Doxie already loves this toy! He has been carrying it around for almost an hour now.

I was very disappointed in this toy. My little 4 pound Pom had it chewed up in a matter of a few minutes. All protruding parts were easily chewed off. Holes were easily chewed into all parts.

On November 18, 2009:
My dog, Snickers, just loves the chicken toys I purchased. Everyday when I get home we play "chicken". He loves to go get the chicken when I throw it across the room. It is his favorite toy, bar none!

On January 22, 2009:
Our 55 pound dog generally destroys most toys in a matter of hours. She did chew the legs and crown off of this almost immediately, but the rest of the toy, including squeaker, has held up for a month so far, with no signs of wearing out soon. Bounces great, and the shape makes it easy to take out of her mouth when playing and she doesn't want to drop.
