Like Monte in Ashville, mine quit after a couple of months. I just pulled the impeller out of the pump, cleaned it and stuck it back in. Voila, it came right back to life!

Didn't last long

Worked great at first and my cats seemed to like it. Then less than 5 months after purchasing it the motor stopped working. It can't be taken apart to be cleaned, and I can't seem to find a replacement motor anywhere. Not such a great product after all.

Trouble free

On October 27, 2010:
This is the fountain you want if you find the reservoir style tedious. Instead of disassembling it all you have to do is simply pour water in from the top. I've also found that the coal filter can be taken apart and refilled with Aquarium grade activated charcoal. That's a good thing because the filters don't seem to exist right now. Trust me, I've contacted Penn Plax directly.
