Tetra Parasite Guard Tabs External Parasite Aquarium Medications at Linens 'n Things

My 56 gal Oscar tank came down with parasite and ICK. After trying a few different meds, curing the ICK but had little to no effect on the parasites till I used this. I did have to do a total of 3 treatments to rid the parasites. Buy multiple boxes because 1 tablet is good for 10 gal and its best to treat the entire tank.

I have no idea if this medication actually works.... I do know that I killed about half of my fish while using it (20 gallon freshwater aquarium). I did not remove my phosphate absorbing resin (one that contains ferrous oxide - dark red color grains). When I saw all kinds of OTHER diseases start to appear (parasite free fish were getting sick), I stopped treatment - researched every ingredient that is in this medication - and found contradictions with the phosphate absorbing media (which I also no longer use). I know the water hardness (General hardness) shot way up - so I am assuming the iron content in the water was deadly (I never did get an Iron test kit). I returned the product to Tetra and they were very fair in compensating me. I had no expectation of them paying for my fish, but they were more than fair in covering the cost of the medication replacing it foods my fish love. Learn from my mistake - before you use any new products, research first. Maybe under different circumstances, this medication may have helped the two fish that presented with internal parasites, hence my rating of three stars for average. So far, I haven't had much success with any medication healing internal parasites - but now I only use medications that I know are not harmful to the healthy fish in any way.
