My cairns adore these treats. I can always count on the Texas Taffy's to redirect their cairn energy even when the backyard squirrels are at the back door.

I bought 4 boxes of Merrick Texas Taffy. Since the recall in January, my dogs have had to do without it and this is the only snack they LOVE!

My 3 Labradors love the Taffy except it took them 2 minutes to finish them and they came back for more. So far no diarrhea for them after they ate the taffy which is good.

My toy poodle is so picky and she loves these chews. They chew on them for a long time and they never give up until they are finished. You can make two out of one stick also. I have given them to several friends with dogs who say their dogs loved them too!

A good, safe treat! Merrick has a great reputation for quality dog food products. Texas Taffy is better for older dogs that have some difficulty chewing. Our dogs know it's bedtime when they receive their "dessert." Sometimes they even want to go to bed early. Kind of expensive, but easy to cut into smaller portions.

Our 4 Yorkies absolutely love this treats. Because they are large, I cut them into small strips and give each of them a share. They are high in protein and they don't smell bad, like a lot of other dog treats. Do supervise your dog while eating because the dogs tend not to chew them enough and try to swallow them too quickly. I think that is because they taste too good!

On February 13, 2010:
My Shepherd loves these but they are a bit messy. They leave little pieces where she chews them. I feel they are very safe and a healthy natural treat. It takes her under 10 minutes to chew, not long lasting.
