Bassett Mirror's Edison gets its name from it's usage of pre 1890 telegraph (NOT Telephone) poles for the table pedestal. Telegraph poles predating 1890 were not treated with creasote and were made from the straightest trunks of heart pine. Bassett Mirror has reclaimed this vintage wood for use in this elegant and environmentally friendly group. Each of the pedestals is a section of this solid heart pine wood and is over 100 year old. The 54" round glass top provides the durable surface and best of all - allows viewing of the intricate cross-cut ring graining on top of the pedestal. This table is proudly made in the USA. The fully skirted parsons chair uses a undyed natural Jefferson linen fabric that complements the naturalistic sensibilities of this important group.
