Hung these in my living room. I love them. they are beautiful to look. Might get some more for other rooms.
On April 23, 2013:
I bought these for my 20 yr old daughters bedroom. Color was perfect. Described as "leaf" they are an olive color. Just what i was looking for. They DO NOT block all the light but they do the job, making the room darker. They are NOT thermal back. Don't know how they will help in the winter. Overall they were worth the money. Five windows in the bedroom, so I needed something affordable. These worked for me!
On December 13, 2012:
These curtains were exactly what I was looking for. They keep out the sunlight and the draft in the winter time. I also loved the color! Shipping was fast and this was the only place I could find the size I need for my enormous window - highly recommend!
On September 29, 2012:
These are perfect for my beach cottages. Add color & quality.
On April 28, 2012:
These curtains are very nice and are certainly a great addition to my son's room. They are light "filtering" so they do not allow as much light to enter the room as normal curtains (my son is 2 and still naps so we need this) and this is just fine.
On March 13, 2012:
I needed curtains for my bedroom to block the morning and afternoon sunlight, along with blocking a terrible draft. They do it all. I am so happy with these curtains. I bought the plum and the color is very nice. They are very attractive. I never know when the sun come up in the morning. My room be just that dark and I've also noticed that I don't have the terrible draft that I once had. I will be buying another pair for my living room. Really can't understand the negative comments I've read. Thanks Anna's Linens!!!
On March 9, 2012:
Awesome. Got the metal color for 3 front windows, can not say enough good things about these curtains. In the brightest direct sun, it just slightly shows off the color of the curtains, they do an excellent job of blocking out intense light without being completely opague. I was very surprised they so nice for such a low price. Now I want 2 more and they're out of stock!!!! Word of advice, just assume you'll love them and want to furnish every window so get enough of the color you want before they sell out!!!!!!
On March 7, 2012:
I bought these in navy blue and they have given my bedroom just the luxurious finish for which I was aiming. My husband works shifts and often has to try to sleep while it is still light. We have faux wood blinds but they left the bedroom looking somewhat bare. These instantly made it feel less open to the outside temperatures which are cool at the moment. Hopefully they will also keep out some of the heat when we have our very hot summers.
On February 23, 2012:
These drapery panels are nice for the price. The color is great. I ordered wheat. They may help to keep out heat and cold, but they do not block very much light. In fact, you can see light through them in the day time. They servce my purpose well, and I am satisfied with my purchase.
On February 21, 2012:
These curtains are very thin and block very little light at all. I am returning them!
On January 29, 2012:
I needed some darkening panels to get rid of the glare of the sunlight on the living room tv. These were just what the doctor orderd! They do not block 100% of light, but they do not claim to be 100% blackout curtains. I have those in the bedroom.
On January 26, 2012:
after searching for a few home decor items all over the dept stores and online, anna's provided the best prices and had exactly what i needed. my order came in on time and was perfect!
On January 8, 2012:
Actually...not darkening at all. Even with four panels up! But, otherwise beautiful.
On December 29, 2011:
The color is rich and the fabric is amazing. It filters the light and provides privacy to the room, as hoped. Thank you!
On December 27, 2011:
We think the curtains look nice when it's dark outside, or when they are open during the day. They drape beautifully. But be advised that these curtains are not lined. We got the "brick" color - and there is no way this blocks out 99% of light. In fact, it turns the whole room a pink color. But the price is right if you're going to keep them open during the day.
On November 28, 2011:
This is my second purchase of these curtains. I ordered the last sets in navy, and these in sage. It is a true sage green. I can't really say that I notice a huge difference in the energy savings, but they do block the drafts a bit, they still let in enough light in the daytime, and really look nice.
On November 26, 2011:
Love the variety of colors and the decorative curtain rod options.
On November 14, 2011:
I bought these panels in two different lenghts and for the price you can't beat it.
On November 14, 2011:
I bought room darkening panels for my college daughter's room. They arrived soooo fast' and are exactly what she wanted! I will definitely be doing more business! Thanks!
On November 9, 2011:
i just want to know how much curtains are in in a pack. Hope to hear from you ASAP. Thank you...
On November 3, 2011:
Our bedroom is on the front of our house which is across from an intersection. At night, the headlights from every car that came down the road and stopped at the stop sign would shine straight in our window and right across our bed, even though we have wood blinds up. I purchased the navy panels and valances and WOW are we impressed. They not only block the light, but they are of good quality, our bedroom is quieter, and the temperature doesn't seem to swing as much. I can't believe what a great value they are. I will be ordering more!
On August 24, 2011:
This item really works to block out the heat and brightness during the day.
On August 24, 2011:
These curtains panels were nice enough if all you wanted was something to cover your window. But the are VERY lightweight and thin. They do NOT block light and they do not have any insulating capability either. I returned mine because they are not what they say they are. I really feel Anna's Linens should have provided a more accurate description. I did return them to a local store and lost my shipping charges. The local store did have some that suited my purpose.
On July 17, 2011:
The product description failed to mention a pertinent detail on the package: How many panels are recommended for the size of the window. I bought 2 panels based on the product description. However, the package detail says I should have bought 4 panels to obtain the level of room darkening the product purports to provide. The value is there and I would have been happy to buy 4 panels instead of 2. However, I did not know I needed 4 panels and now I have to pay for shipping AGAIN, and the discount I enjoyed is no longer valid for another purchase.
On July 9, 2011:
These are the biggest waste of money! They claim to block out 99.8% of light which could not be farther from the truth! I put these up last night, and this morning when the sun came up, the light shows directly through them! They are extremely thin so I highly doubt they save any energy either. I would NOT recommend these to anyone!!!
On June 8, 2011:
Exactly what I expected. The panel works perfectly by blocking too much light especially in the morning(summer) when I am enjoying my sleep!!
On May 31, 2011:
They make my formal living room look fantastic......
On May 31, 2011:
Fantastic!
On May 10, 2011:
I've been looking for something that fits my wide flat curtain rods for a long time. I don't think that these curtains would look as good on a smaller curtain rod.
On April 4, 2011:
They add so much detail to the room, blocks out a good percent of the light and cools the room. We use them in place of sheers with other drapes in front of them which are swagged to the side. We ordered Taupe, but there is a little too much gold in it.
On March 27, 2011:
After having blinds in our living room for the past 6 years, it was a great choice to finally change to these drapes. They really do keep the blazing California sun out and not to mention look fabulous. The brick red really offsets our chocalate furniture, nicely. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
On March 11, 2011:
The color is fantastic! I was hoping for a heavier fabric with a light-colored block-out lining, as we are required to have light colors at the windows of my apartment complex. However, since I love the deep red color, and will probably order or make liners. As the fabric is thinner than I expected, the two panels I ordered don't really look that great at a larger window (I would need two more panels for a richer, fuller look), so for the time being, I will use them at a smaller window in a different room.
On March 11, 2011:
The color is fantastic, and I like the braided finish on the edges. However, since I love the deep red color, and will probably order or make liners. On March 8, 2011:
This is a very nice weighted fabric with a nice feel and a slight sheen to it. A very good buy in my opinion. However, be wary of the color. It is a true sage green. If your monitor is showing a slightly minty color, it is incorrect.
On February 18, 2011:
These panels work for what I had in mind, but the are cheap and look cheap.
On February 3, 2011:
I really like these curtains. They look very nice on my windows and do an adequate job of blocking out the light. I've had panels that do a better job blocking out the sunlight, but none that look as good as these.
On January 27, 2011:
I just purchased two 95" panels and three of the valances to frame the standard sized sliding patio doors in my rental condo's livingroom. Got them on sale, an amazing value. The packing folds ironed out easily, and they look fine hanging. Nice drape and silky look. They don't look cheap at all. The braid trim on the valances is a plus. I purchased the Taupe, and the color is true, a mid brown undertone without a lot of gold and no red tone whatsoever. Totally neutral. I cannot comment on the light blocking ability, as my panels hang over the wall on either side of the sliders. The valances are long enough to cover the rod with the lace sheers underneath, about 16". Don't hesitate, these are good quality drapes and appear well made. Only a few loose threads. Anna's scores a 10 again! Thanks, Anna.
On January 26, 2011:
I just love these drapery panels. The color is rich, and the fabric releases wrinkles easily (in the dryer on low with a damp towel). We were looking for curtains that would not completely block the light, but would darken the room for TV viewing and to block sunlight in the summer. Also we wanted curtains that are thin enough (non-bulky) to open fully and expose the whole window. Finally, we also wanted curtains that would keep out the cold. These fit the bill on all fronts and are very attractive. We got them on sale at a very reasonable price and couldn't be happier!
On December 30, 2010:
They actually worked well and kept about 80 percent of the light out. But i ordered the mineral because it looked a nice light blue, but they actually turned out to be green. I plan to exchange them for the Carly brand one
On December 23, 2010:
These definitely do not block as much light as you might think, but they do look pretty nice and are machine washable. The material feels a little cheap, but that's what you're paying for.
On December 7, 2010:
These do block out the light well. Throw in the washer and dryer then hang. Just what I was looking for.
On December 2, 2010:
These curtains made my house go from BLAH to WOW...everyone loves them! They are more gold then shown but went perfectly with my decor I had. I love them. They block out most of the light and sun and make the house so much more like home. I am very happy with my purchase.
On September 15, 2010:
This is the second time that I have purchased from Anna's Linens and I must say, your excellent service continues to inspire me to continue to shop at your store. I made a mistake in ordering the wrong the length, and Anna's Linens allowed me to cancel the order and re-order within a matter of minutes. As for the actual curtains, I love the brick colour. It is not too red, but the colour pops out at your and brings up your living space.
On August 31, 2010:
I couldn't be more pleased with these drapes. They hang beautifully and block out just enough light. Quality is excellent for the price
On August 17, 2010:
Energy Savings, is why I bought these panels. I bought these panels to block out the heat and sunlight which is very intense in my bedroom which faces west. When I was hanging the first curtain panel I could feel instantly that the heat was being blocked by just the one panel. These panels are very elegant and I must say they do block out the heat. I will be purchasing more of these panels.
On July 1, 2010:
I could not wake up this morning because the room was dark. I have always used sheer curtains, but with the hot sun I decided to try these curtain. Also great price.
On July 1, 2010:
I order 5 panels and am very pleased with the looks and feel of the drapes. They really keep out the hot sun and are very pretty drapes. I am going to soon be purchasing some for my bedroom
On June 29, 2010:
These are not advertised as Blackout, but ROOM DARKENING and they do that perfectly. I think a lot of the unhappy reviewers are not putting enough panels on their windows. Remember, you are supposed to put double the width. I have 75" windows, so I put 4 panels on each window and my room gets DARK and I have northern and eastern exposure. My bedroom is super bright. I can sleep late in the mornings because my room is so dark with no problems.
On May 8, 2010:
These are advertised as "black out" drapes. They are dark, but there is no liner as there is in a typical black out drape. They do hang nicely, and they do "filter" the bright light, but I would not classify them as a true "black out" drape. I am happy with them, but just wish there would have been a liner.
On May 4, 2010:
I sent these back. They were not only not black-out curtains, they let all kinds of light through. I had bought them based on previous customer reviews. These are not at all what they claim to be. I need TOTAL darkness, and this was like having the blinds opened in the middle of the day. Totally not as advertised. I am very disappointed, as I had to pay return shipping on something that was not what I ordered. Not sure I will shop with Anna's again.
On April 3, 2010:
The color is as the picture shows. They have a little sheen to them but with the overall basic look they could be hung in any room. They do darken the room and help with the heat and cold. I bought the chocolate color too - and they really really darken the room. Lightweight, sleek ---and can't beat the great price!
On March 26, 2010:
I have 2 75" windows in my bedroom. One facing west and one facing north. I put 4 panels on each window and let me tell you, my room gets pitch black even in the middle of the afternoon when I close these drapes. Remember, as a rule of thumb, your curtains/drapes (whatever you want to call them) should be at least double the width of your window. I bought the brick color and I'm thinking of buying the black color for my living room. I love these. One thing I didn't like was having to iron 8 panels LOL (and I bought the short ones...)
On March 19, 2010:
I love the look and the feel! I got a dark deep Chocolate, they are really beautiful. I just wish they had Valances to match, it would just look so much more complete!
On February 10, 2010:
I ordered these over the other lined curtains because of the size (I have an abnormally large window) and preferred to buy 2 panels rather than 3. Although I was disappointed in the lack of color choices, I am satisfied with the product. It not only blocks light but also helps neutralize the small draft that comes through (great for the NYC winter months!).
On February 1, 2010:
My husband is in the military and works odd shifts, so these curtains were lifesavers when he needed to catch some z's during the day! They aren't complete black out curtains but they do a pretty good job of keeping the light out of our room and we have sun shining directly through our window most of the day. I bought 2 of the chocolate panels and they work perfectly and do have a nice sheen as stated in a previous review. For this price you can't beat them, I would highly recommend them to anyone!
On January 27, 2010:
I hung up 2 panels in my bedroom, the 2 panels were more than enough to cover the width of the window. The light still shone through the curtains, making them look red. Since the curtains were longer than the window is tall, I folded them in half and sewed them in place so they would be twice as thick but light still shone through them :( They are not thermal lined. These curtains are thin pieces of satin like fabric. They are better than having nothing on the window, though.
On January 15, 2010:
In the past I have purchased one package that had two panels. This one came with one.
On January 8, 2010:
I've been looking for panels in a rich, brown color for several months. I found them, but couldn't afford them...until I went to Anna's Linens. I was amazed by the fact that they had the "quality" look I wanted, at an affordable price!! They proved to be the PERFECT touch my family room needed for a fresh, updated look!! I couldn't be more pleased. Next time, I'll check Anna's Linen's FIRST!!
On January 7, 2010:
Was not what I had hoped!! The green sheet that it replaced blocked more light than these panels. Good side is that the room is a beautiful lavender color when the sun is out , so I wont have to paint the room. You can see through them form the outside at night, leaving you minimal privacy. Love the color and the sheen of the polyester material.
On January 2, 2010:
great texture..its has a nice thing silky feel to it.
On December 19, 2009:
When I purchased these curtains, I have to admit that I was doing this blindly. I have heard of room darkening curtains, but my bedroom has the midday sun coming straight in, making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. The moment that I put these up, I immediately noticed the difference as the room instantly became very dark, despite the time of the day was midday. My only complaint was that I wished that these two panels didn't come in a big box. I think that the curtains could have been packaged in a much smaller box.
On December 17, 2009:
I wanted very dark brown curtains that also blocked out the sun. The chocolate ones were so great that I bought them for all the rooms in our house! It's worth buying a bunch whenever they are on sale!
On October 31, 2009:
these curtains are just great! they hang beautifully and really perked up the space.
On October 26, 2009:
We are from Houston, TX but we recently moved to Oklahoma City I was looking for stores nearby until we found out there were no stores here so we decided to buy items for our house on line at annas.com From now on we are going to continue buying online.
On October 14, 2009:
These are beautiful!!! Hung them as soon as possible! Highly recommend!
On October 8, 2009:
They do exactly what they are supposed to- allow us to sleep through sunrise and during the day. If you need pitch black buy an extra panel. Any overlap or enough folds will make 100% black. The price was unmatched anywhere. They look good, though the black has a reddish hue with direct sunlight behind a flat, stretched panel, unnoticed when draped properly. The service was excellent and they shipped immediately.
On October 6, 2009:
Received these drapes quickly after the order was placed online. The 84" panels were not the same length; one was about 2" shorter than the other. They were wrinkled but ironed easily. I opted to keep them rather than send them back because they are used for a second bedroom and you cannot see the bottom of the drapes where they meet the floor. The length difference is quite noticeable. They do cut out a lot of the light and seem to keep the room cooler from the heat of the sun, but they are not completely room darkening. I am satisfied and they met my current needs. Haven't washed them, will probably steam when necessary.
On September 20, 2009:
I ordered these curtains in hopes to help block out the sun and they did it!! Not only do they look good, they definitely do their job!
On September 3, 2009:
We have been looking for the right amount of room darkening and finally found it. We sleep better and are not awakened by early daylight. Thank you.
On July 2, 2009:
These curtains served our family's purpose without hurting our pockets. The rich colors (we purchased "Brick") keep out the light without it being too dark and they "pop" with our dark espresso colored bedroom furniture. I couldn't be more satisfied with this purchase. Buy some & try them out... TODAY!
On July 1, 2009:
On June 22, 2009:
We purchased these for all the rooms in our house. We can't believe what a difference they have made in just one day. No more reflection on our TV!!! Our sons room is the hottest in the house since he gets the afternoon/evening sun. We have had temps in the 100s and they have already helped with the temp of his room. Can't wait to see the electric bill! Hope it helps with that. They seemed thin in the store but for the price, we thought we would try them out. They cut out ALOT of the sun! They are very wrinkled out of the package and will wrinkle easily so be prepared to iron them and hang them immediately.
On June 18, 2009:
I bought 2 panels and loved them, they do block out the sun which i liked, and as the sunsets i drape the curtains on a holdback, the curtains have a nice sheen!
