Hagen Exo-Terra Exo Terra Heat Emitter Reptile Heat Bulbs at Linens 'n Things

On April 12, 2011:
I was seriously disappointed when I purchased this heater and it only lasted 7 days! I have 3 zoo med ceramic heaters that have lasted 3 years+ I currently own over 100 reptiles and have purchased countless items from all the major product manufacturers. One thing I have determined from years of animal husbandry, is that exo terra products are inferior in quality. Compared to zoo med and t-rex products, exo terra does not hold up in design and lasting quality.

On October 14, 2010:
recently purchased thought it would be enough for a 18x18 terrarium. Later found out that 60w doesn't produce much heat. if you have terrarium heights more than 12 inches. I would suggest to purchase a 100w instead of 60w.

On December 21, 2009:
I placed an order which included ceramic heaters made by both Zoo Med and Exo Terra, and the Zoo Med heaters are by far better made. The only reason I bought the Exo Terra heater is that Zoo Med doesn't make a 250w ceramic heater. The Exo Terra one I installed stopped working after few weeks, then broke when I tried to unscrew it from the clamp lamp. Terrible quality.

On September 20, 2009:
We have a used bulb that we have been using for almost three years, and the previous owners had it for at least a year. It's still going strong. We purchased another bulb for a second cage a little over a year ago, and that one is also going strong. I would advise a thermostat (not rheostat), though, as they can get pretty hot... We have ours hooked up to a Helix Control System.

I have used these for my leopard gecko and for my bearded dragon. I love them. I know it sounds just like everyone else says they love it, but this is true. If you do not want one of those reptile night lights going on all night this is the way to go.

On May 4, 2007:
Although most ceramic heaters can last up to 5 years, this one quit working after 4 months. But, for the time it worked it worked well.

On April 8, 2007:
I've had the 100watt heater for almost 4 months and have had no problems with it. It gets quite hot (over 100F), so make sure you get a lamp specifically for a ceramic heater.
