On July 13, 2012:
I use this with the Mini Combo Deep Dome, it holds it up well, the only issue I really have with it is how it relies on the weight of the tank to hold it up and in place once you have a lamp fixture on it. When I first got it the pant coating on it made it impossible to screw in one of the bolts, but once I cleaned it up a bit and found a wrench it was good to go with no more problems.

On May 23, 2012:
Previously I had my lamps resting directly on the screen top of my vivarium, but using this is much better. It allows easy access to slide the screen top on and off without disturbing the lamps. It is so much easier to open the cage now for cleaning / feeding or to pick up my pet.

I have had my lamp stand for about a year now. It does what it's supposed to do, it adjusts to just about any height (I have the larger lamp) and using it, I can get my bearded dragon's basking temps just right. There's only one issue I've had with mine... the little round nobs that loosen and tighten the rods so you can adjust them? They're made of plastic. The part they connect to on the stand, is made of metal. I've done a lot of adjusting, and all my plastic nobs are stripped. They are useless to tighten or loosen any more, so I had to raid my dad's tool box for a tool that would do the same thing. Now I just keep that tool with the stand at all times. If this one problem were to be corrected, I could give this item 5 full stars!

All in all not a bad product. I'm using this to suspend a lamp fixture above my turtle's above tank basking area. However, it doesn't adjust anywhere near high enough for my usage, so I had to scavenge a metal rod similar to the one that came with the stand, but longer, which wasn't easy to find. Seems pretty stable and secure though, so I'd recommend it, just be sure of you height requirement, and be sure to take into account the drop distance of the lamp in your fixture.

On January 4, 2011:
My baby beardie finds the highest spot to bask on which is pretty high up and close to the top. This stand allows me to raise the heat lamp thus lowering the temperature if it gets too hot for him. Its very easy to adjust too. Its also nice not having the lamp directly on top of the screen, putting less wear on the cage.

I've been using one of these stands for years. It's very convenient and easy to use.

On April 27, 2010:
I bought 1 a while back for my ball python and just bought another for my bearded dragon. Works great keeps lamp off the screen so slide top cages are easier to open and screen don't sink etc. Is kinda flimsy but not enough 2 keep me from buying them.

I bought this stand to go above my sugar bears' cage for the heat lamp, and it works fine.

Very adjustable. The thin round metal rods are nice in terms of the versatility of placement for clamp lamps, but things end up clamped a little less securely than I'd like. Has a hook at the end of the horizontal arm for hanging dome lamps without clamps.

this stand combined with Powersun UV light made our turtle tank look cleaner. we were using two lights clamped on the tank.

I love this stand for many reasons... 1st) It makes me feel so much safer knowing that my light is secure and will not fall into the water. Otherwise I have to have the lights sitting on top of the black screen. During feeding or cleaning time these could easily fall into the water and that would be a disaster! 2nd) This light stand is so easy to adjust - up or down, in or out. 3rd) It only takes about a minute to put it together when you take it out of the box.

On November 8, 2007:
This is a stand that I use to put my lamp(dome lamp) with the powersun bulb. I love it. It looks nice and neat in my room. It also can adjust so I can make the basking spot hotter or cooler depending on how high/low the stand is.

On June 14, 2007:
It's a little flimsy, but it does its job. Bought one of these at a local store for our dragon's 20 gallon tank. It adjusts high enough to hold the lamp a few inches above the top.

On November 4, 2006:
This is a great stand, now I don't have to worry about the lamp coming uncliped and falling into the tortoises habitat and starting a fire, or burning the tortoises.
