Expected more for the price

This item has more uses other than just Christmas lights. I bought this to accent the stage area in a bar where karaoke is held and it adds a nice touch! The picture depicting the colors is accurate. It is just under half an inch in diameter. I bought some .5" cable clamps to install it on a wooden lip and those work very nicely. PROS: Sturdy construction. Flexible. Feels durable. Nice colors, not too fluorescent, but still bright. CONS: the "functions" are crap. The dial shows a list of 8 different functions, and half the time, they're not even doing what the dial is set to. Aside from the slow fade function and the steady burn, they just blink at different intervals. I really wanted a "chase" feature, which this product claims to have, but it does nothing of the sort. So I just keep clicking the dial until I find a blink pattern I like and let it go. Overall, I like the product. It's better than having nothing on the stage, but it does not do the 8 different functions like it says.
