Super Pet Habitat Defined for Guinea Pigs Small Pet Cages at Linens 'n Things

Although the Habitat Defined cage is beautiful, it is not practical for guinea pigs. The sides in the lower part are too high for placing the water bottle, which means the bottle must be at the upper level. However, the ramp is flimsy and the small plastic attachments crack easily. When the ramp breaks, the upper level is unreachable and unusable. I was unable to get a replacement ramp. Also, the upper level is very small and the animals can easily fall off the sides. I discovered that a larger, one-level cage is much more suitable for my guinea pigs.

We love this cage and so does our guinea pig. Easy to set up and very deep bottom keeps bedding off the floor. Shipping time from Pet mountain was awesome! Highly recommend this cage and Pet mountain!

On August 17, 2010:
The cage does not sit on the bottom part with the wheels very snugly at all. It seems like it would of snapped on somehow if only for safety of the animals so they don't accidentally get knocked off. I chose not to use the wheels and placed the cage directly on the floor. I have a dwarf bunny and I leave the door open so she can come and go most of the time. I also took the ramp out because she did not use it, but she loves to lay on the shelf!

On August 10, 2010:
I just got my first pet guinea pig a little 5 week old baby boy, Roscoe. He loves to go up the ramp and then jump off. I've read that jumping is bad for them but he does not have any problems. The cage has a deep base that keeps his messes off of my floor.

On August 5, 2010:
This habitat is perfect for two bonded guinea pigs! Daphne and Freddie love their two story house and get lots of exercise!

On June 12, 2010:
I just bought my thirteenth guinea pig (I'm rather obsessed) her name is Lucille, and I bought this cage to go along with her. She is the happiest little guinea pig ever, now!! She absolutely loves running up the ramp to the second level. Since the base is deep it keeps everything INSIDE the cage and OFF my floor. I would definitely recommend this cage to any guinea pig fanatic.
