Four Paws Extra-Wide Walk Over Gate Wood Dog Gates at Linens 'n Things

On February 10, 2010:
This gate is hard to put together if you can imagine that! The side knobs do not stay attached (only by the pressure of the wall) and there is no way to take down easily. We do not have it fully extended (maybe at 2/3 of max) and the center is already unstable! If you want to take it down, you have to unscrew the side knobs (then they fall out and roll around your house because they are not attached ;o). The height is perfect for our Maltese and Yorkie, even our Olympian Yorkie can't clear it - and she can clear 20" plywood. Bottom line, it was the only height/width combo I could find for the price, so for that I am happy with it. I do not expect it to last for long...

On December 1, 2009:
Very happy with our step-over fence purchases. Bought the regular and extra wide sizes. I was disappointed that the extra wide fence did not have the "doggie door" that the smaller fences had. Surprising since it had more room to put one. Luckily I have a handy husband who "reworked" them and put the door on the extra wide where we needed it most. Thanks again.

On November 19, 2009:
I am using this gate to confine my 13 week old 4 pound puppy. This gate is the only one I found that was the length I needed and did not require drilling holes into the wall. As such, I did not have a choice in choosing this gate and may have chosen another brand had one been available. At the full 80 inches, the gate is not sturdy. I had to put cardboard between the gate brackets and the wall to give it a snug fit. The gate is cheap wood and plastic.. not worth the money. Every time I leave my puppy in the confined area I am surprised to come back to find that the gate is still standing. One star for being the only gate on the market that stood at the length I needed for the space without having to drill into the wall.
